With STEINEL SmartRemote, installers can conveniently configure and control sensors and lights via smartphone/tablet or via the Smart-Remote remote control – quickly, mobile and directly via Bluetooth.
As a full-service partner, Arendi supplied hardware and software from a single source: from the BLE-enabled smart remote platform to the mobile app suite (Android/iOS) including MAUI migration – ideal for a long-lasting product with continuous development.
Initial situation, goals & challenges
STEINEL was looking for a development partner with professional expertise in electronics, Bluetooth communication, and mobile apps – with the goal of delivering a high-quality, production-ready end product.
The challenges included the constantly evolving product landscape, diverse user roles (e.g., installer, facility manager, DIYer), and technological leaps in Bluetooth technology and the platform transition from Xamarin to NET MAUI.
Project results & customer benefits
The result is a production-ready, manufacturing-ready electronic design plus a tablet/smartphone app that supports professional installers in their daily work and significantly simplifies the commissioning and setup of lighting/sensor systems.
The customer benefit: Arendi combines embedded Bluetooth and electronic design expertise with mobile app competence in one team – resulting in robust device/app systems that can be distributed through official app stores and maintained long-term.
Implemented solution
Arendi developed the smart remote electronics using Altium Designer; the firmware is based on the proven Arendi BLE platform for embedded devices. The Android and iOS apps utilize the Arendi BLE Library and enable stable, high-performance Bluetooth communication between the app and the device.
