BLE update app
Firmware update tool for Bluetooth Low Energy devices, based on the Arendi BLE platform
Quickly and easily update the firmware wirelessly from within your email app.
Reliably update and maintain firmware
This tool helps developers, service and maintenance teams to securely update firmware on embedded and IoT devices.
Via the app
The Arendi Firmware Update App allows device firmware to be updated via a wireless connection.
The app is specifically designed for devices based on the Nordic Semiconductor nRF platform and supports typical update scenarios in development, commissioning, and service environments. It offers a reliable way to keep software versions up to date or to selectively switch between them.
Functions
Establishing a connection to nRF-based devices
Displaying device and firmware information
Transferring new firmware versions to the target device
Monitoring the update progress
Verifying the successful update
Sharing protocol and log files with other smartphone apps
Nordic & Firmware Expertise
Arendi has many years of experience with the Nordic nRF platform, including bootloader concepts, DFU mechanisms and secure firmware updates via wireless interfaces.

Why firmware updates?
Firmware updates are now a regulatory and security necessity for connected products. Besides functional enhancements and bug fixes, they are a key means of meeting legal cybersecurity requirements.
RED – Radio Equipment Directive
Delegated Regulation ( EU) 2022/30 on the RED obliges manufacturers to protect radio equipment against known security risks. This explicitly includes the ability to provide security updates throughout the product lifecycle.
Cyber Resilience Act (CRA)
The EU Cyber Resilience Act requires a secure development and maintenance process for digital products, including:
Treatment of weaknesses
Protection against unauthorized changes
Ability to provide security updates
These requirements are specified, among other things, by the EN 18031 series of standards (e.g. EN 18031-1 / -2 / -3) .
A secure, reproducible firmware update procedure is therefore a prerequisite for compliance , product safety and future viability of networked devices – from market launch to the end of their service life.
